Hundreds of people have died too soon because of the many dangers associated with not having a safe and healthy place to live.  The Homeless Memorial Service has become an annual event in Edmonton to take time to grieve and remember those relatives, friends and acquaintances from our community who died as a direct or indirect result of not having a home.

On May 13, 2016 there was a service at Boyle Street Community Services (BSCS).  Following the service, there was a short walk led by an Edmonton Police Service Piper to the Homeless Memorial site located on 100 Street and 103 A Avenue (in front of the CN Tower) for a final commemoration.  Chilli, bannock and dessert were served back at BSCS following the commemoration.
