Social Housing and Human Rights Webinar launch to Call to Action on more housing across Canada

On November 21st at 11:30 am, ECOHH Chair Nadine Chalifoux spoke on behalf of ECOHH at a national webinar hosted by the Social Housing and Human Rights organization about the ongoing crisis of a lack of social or affordable housing across Canada.

Nadine spoke to Edmonton's situation, and along with other organizations from across Canada highlighted the unacceptable and inappropriate housing for the majority of Canadians who cannot afford more than 30% of their income geared to rent.

The launch included a call to join the movement by endorsing the call.

The Call is to the federal government to create a minimum of 50,000 net new rent-geared-to-income social housing for the next 10 years. This is to target those experiencing core housing needs and the homeless.
