October 5: Social Housing & Human Rights National Day of Action

Thursday, October 5 @ 2:00pm

South Entrance of Canada Place (location pin dropped here)

Bring a sign in support of social housing!

On October 5th, communities across Canada will call on Prime Minister Trudeau and the Canadian government to take action on our housing crisis by investing in:

  • a minimum of 30,000 new social housing suites annually over 10 years, beginning in Budget 2024 — with rents no more than 30% of household income

  • the acquisition, construction, operation, and maintenance of new and existing public, non-profit, and cooperative-owned housing that meets the unique and varied requirements of people experiencing core housing need and homelessness. In other words, all social housing needs to be adequate housing.

Join ECOHH this Thursday October 5 at 2pm in front of the South entrance of Canada Place to demand a real solution to our housing crisis.
