Taproot Edmonton is publishing a series of insights into Edmonton's housing market as part of the Housing Complex series. For the second article, Taproot journalist Colin Gallant explores the challenges of building new housing in a city like Edmonton that's expected to grow significantly over the next thirty years - reaching a population of two million by 2060.

One aspect of housing that's sometimes underappreciated is the needs of multigenerational families and families from different cultures, something explored through the work of Edmonton's Islamic Family agency.
